Foundation a few tips!!

First of all I would like to let you know that I've been wearing mac foundations for years, I am an "NC50" in most mac foundations, now the reason why i say "most" is because i found that even though my color is "nc50"  some of there foundations, tend, to be darker, then others, so my advice to you, if you are interested in buying a mac foundation, go to the store without any foundation on, and let them match you up with a foundation, and when they do, do not buy it straight away. As when the sales assistant (make-up artist) hands you that massive mirror, remember, when you looking into it (feeling like you "run the world" like beyonce!! mmmmm hmmmm!) you are looking into it under artificial lights! which brings me to my next piece of advice....

GO OUTSIDE! ( and no! not outside in a department store under more artificial lights!) IN NATURAL LIGHT!!!!!! get on with your day, (hopefully you will have an honest friend with you) and check the foundation in an hour (or few hours) see how it looks, how does it feel on your skin? take a few photos, now that might seem a tad extreme to you, but (and yess it's a big BUT!) you do not want the experience of paying for a mac foundation ( or any foundation, lets be real, it all costs, no matter how cheap or expensive!!) which isn't cheap! only to look at a photo of yourself  to see, your face is ten times darker or worse lighter then your neck...

" i do not know about you, but, me, i do not like the idea of  looking like Casper the friendly ghost,on a dark skinned woman, its not friendly at all"

Another thing I would say is, do not be embarrassed to ask for a tester of the product so you can try yourself at home, an even better way to try before you buy...and to see if you really do like the product and if the product likes you..

TIPS
  • Go to the store without foundation on
  • see what the foundation looks like in natural light
  • wait an hour or two, to see what the foundation looks like (has it gone darker, too shiny etc etc..)
  • take a photo with the foundation on
  • ask for a tester to take home to try yourself for a week or more
  • see if the product likes you, as there is nothing more annoying then buying a foundation only to find that you get breakouts from it.
TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!

I hope this helps you on your search for your  foundation..

xx
