Superdrug's Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream, and Nourishing Night Cream

Intense Moisture Cream

I had bought an expensive day cream about three weeks prior to purchasing this one, and I was quite vexed because here I was again in superdrugs looking for a face cream!
My skin is very dry, and I don't just need a cream to sit on top of my skin, I need it to penetrate, and moisturise my face without it looking like I've just poured a load of cooking oil on my face.

I am going to say it like this to you, when I went in to superdrugs I was in a very bad mood, saw these on offer and just went to the tills! and now almost a year later I am still using this skin care range, what can I say,not only is it cheap, it  works so fantastically for my dry skin( and trust me my skin is drY!!)....Superdrug's also have a normal "SPF 15 Moisturising Day Cream" which isn't so thick (i use that one in the summer, and the one pictured above in the winter..

Verdict
I adore this product, not only does it leave my face feeling moisturised ,it does so without looking greasy, another thing I like about this product is that it is so thick, I mean you can tip it upside down without the lid on, and no product will fall out...for something that costs £2.99 that's amazing! I know I will be using this over and over again..

Nourishing Night Cream
This is another winning product for me! this night cream is amazing, after cleansing and toning I apply this all over my face ( I also like to add two drops of the vitamin E oil which i bought from Holland and Barret) and in the morning my face feels so smooth and soft...This is another product that doesn't leave your face feeling greasy! If you are a teenager just starting out with skin care, ( trust me its better to start from young!) and have normal to dry skin, look no more, just go to superdrugs! its cheap, and it works! or if you are a woman who, for this new year, wants to take more care of your skin and have a routine ie, cleanse, tone, moisturise, also give this a try! also at £2.99 you can not go wrong.

Superdrugs Vitamin E range is on offer 2 for £3.99, so this is the best time to try the range out..go directly in store or direct from there website www.superdrugs.com

Acne series :- Panoxyl 5%

Right, firstly let me say that, in my teenage years I didn't get any breakouts at all ( maybe the odd pimple every year or so!) then a year or so after having my daughter( in my late 20's), my skin went nuts, I
felt like my skin was paying me back for all the Sara lee chocolate gatues (remember those!) I refused to share ( and trust me, I ate that with a small tea spoon, ya nutta mean! ahhh good times good times!) I had awful breakouts on my forehead and my cheeks at one point, and I was in a state of panic, I mean having my daughter was a breeze compared to these breakouts I was experiencing. The way I saw it was " i should have been here and done this already, why am I getting breakouts at my age? ( not only was i dealing with the fact that I was a size 14 from being a size 8, that alone knocked my confidence) If you are reading this and are thinking " oh my life there are worse things in life then acne" yes, i agree with you, but if like me you went through your teenage years with nothing, it is kind of a huge big butt, of a deal. Hormones don't you just love them.....

So I heard about this product from a friend of mine,(who's skin is flawless now) who had awful breakouts, so i thought I'd give it a try..( well at the time my face wasn't giving me much choice! errhmmm) and I am glad I did.

What I do
After I have done my night time routine...(cleanse, tone, moisturise) I apply this on top...every single night, and it works a treat. I still get the odd breakout, but it's not so extreme, and its only certain times of the month..

This product contains Benzoyl peroxide..and comes in two strengths 5% 10%  if you use this product and are still getting breakouts, go to your doctor...

I bought this from my local boots store, and you need to ask for it behind the counter, as it is not out on the shelves... or direct from there website www.Boots.com

My Favorite lip protectors of all time (for now)!!!!

Its January people! and its cold outside, which can be a nightmare on your lips, so when you reach for your hat, scarf ,gloves, and coat, do not forget your lip balm, because dry lips, is just not cute, not on anyone!!!

So here are my favourite lip protectors......introducing Niva's Soft Rose
Nivea's Soft Rose

What made me buy this lip balm was the price, at the time in superdrugs it was £1.50, down from £3, so I thought why not, (me, i love a bargain!) give it a try and I am glad I did, not only is this lip balm moisturising, it has a very nice sheen to it, and can pass as a lip tint, this with a bit of lip gloss looks amazing, also this is amazing as a base for matte lipsticks.

Sadly I didn't see this on the superdrug website, but you can get it in store..

The Body Shop's Coconut Lip Butter

I have been addicted to all things body shop lately ( and it didn't help matters when a sales assistant said to me "oh, back again, just can't stay away can you?" errrhmmmm)  anyway, I came across this little pot of heaven about four weeks ago, and can not get enough of the stuff, it is so creamy, and smells so good (soooooo good) you only need a small amount as it goes a long way, I like to use this sometimes after I exfoliate my lips. It is a bit on the expensive side costing £4, but it is worth every penny and will last you ages!

You can find this at your local body shop or direct from there website  www.thebodyshop.co.uk

The Body Shop's Coconut Lip Roll on

Well what can I say! the sales assistant was right! because here is another lip product from the body shop!     ( errhmmm), this product is brand new, what can i say its beautiful, made from 100% natural oils it feels really nice on the lips, and when you've exfoliated your lips apply this after, and you would want to put up your own kissing booth, as your lips will feel baby soft, and this is a roll on so its simple to apply.

You can buy this directly from there website (cost £4) www. thebodyshop.co.uk  or go to your nearest store

Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm SPF15 (cherry)

This lip balm is nice, thick and has a menthol kick to it, so if you do not like strong smells you are not going to like this (sorry) this lip balm comes in a 10g tube and to me, smells divine...it tingles when you first put it on your lips but that soon goes, and you are left with super soft moisturised lips, which is always a winner in my eyes..

Right now in superdrugs they have this lip balm on offer for £1.99 which usually costs £2.54 so if you want to try this now is the time, or you can buy this directly from the superdrugs website www.superdrugs.com

keep those lips protected this winter, carry a lip balm!!!

My top 10 of 2011 by "M"

As all the new year antics have now passed, I thought I'd share with you my top 10 beauty products from the past year.
All these products I have used again and again since purchasing them

1: NYX BLACK LABEL LIPSTICK IN "SAND"
I bought this during one of nyx's discount weekends and have not stopped wearing it. it is a beautiful natural brown and is the perfect "I'm in a rush" lipstick which is a must for the school run.
Available from www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk

2: NYX BLACK LABEL LIPSTICK IN "TRIBUTE TO MARILYN"
I'll be honest with you, I only bought it for the name as I LOVE Marilyn Monroe and it turns out that this red totally suits me, it looks a lot more orange in the photo than it really is, but really it is rather nice.
Avalible from www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk

3: MAYBELLINE FALSIES WATERPROOF MASCARA
My summer must have!!! especially with a rainy British summer always on the cards!!! gave me the false lash effect I wanted.
Available from www.boots.com or in store and www.superdrug.com or in store.

4: COLLECTION 2000 EXTREME 24 HOUR FELT TIP LINER

An absolute gem of an eyeliner, all of the colours look good but if I had to choose two then it would be the purple and the teal.
S done a review on them back in November, take a look for all the info on where to get it
www.sm-beauty.blogspot.com/2011/11/collection-2000-extreme-24-hour-felt.html?spref=tw

5: OPI ORIGINAL NAIL ENVY

After removing my gel nail warps last year this was an essential on getting them back to a healthy state, I don't really use this as a treatment anymore has my nails are now quite strong but I do use it as a base coat whenever I paint my nails and they have never been stronger.
You can get nail envy from quite a few places but I recommend you get it from www.qvcuk.com they do a great value duo set for under £20.

6: RIMMEL SCANDAL EYES MASCARA

I have to admit I was a bit sceptical about trying this until I read S's review on it. I now use it at least twice a week. Take a look at the review and details where to get it here:
www.sm-beauty.blogspot.com/2011/11/rimmel-scandal-eyes-mascara-new.html?spref=tw

7: MAC LIP PENCIL IN "MAGENTA"

On a vist to Westfield White City during the summer with S, we visited MAC and one of the sales assistant was wearing this and it looked stunning,  a week later I brought it.
It's a deep hot Pink with purple tones, which of course can be worn with lipstick but it looks unbelievable on its own which is how I choose to wear it.
You can get it from www.maccosmetics.co.uk or one of their many store or concessions for £10.50

8: MALLY VOLUMIZING MASCARA

I only just recently got this but S has been clued up on this for a while, take a look at the review here:

9: "DALLAS" BY BENEFIT

This is amazing, it's the perfect blush for my skin and gives a nice dewy natural effect.
Not only do I use this on my cheeks but if I'm having a day when I don't want to wear foundation this over my concealer works perfectly.
You can get Dallas from www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk for £23.50

10: BARE MINERALS ORIGNAL SPF 15 FOUNDATION IN "MEDIUM DARK"

I only staring using this around a month or so ago. I was getting tired of the foundation I was using as I felt that it wasn't giving me enough coverage. S had spare and gave it to me to try and I honestly don't know what I would do without it now, it is AMAZING!!! it gives great coverage without having that "caked on" feeling, the brush that comes with it is great too, this is one I would buy again and again.
You can get this foundation from www.bareminerals.co.uk for £23.

And there you have it, my top 10 of 2011.
I'm really looking forward to trying lots of new products to review for all of you in 2012.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Mx

2011 has really gone...

2012

First of all I would like to say "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" to you all! and I hope you are looking forward to an amazing year that is ahead of us. I for one, do not believe in looking back, ( no could haves, would've, should haves around here i tell ya!!) as i believe there is a reason why a past is called just that "a past", plus its not good to hold on to things that we can not change, let it go, and enjoy the present, as you are in it, and look forward to the future!!!

PAST :- leave it there ( dust the dirt off your shoulders, stamp it out, don't look back in anger!) where it belongs, in, the, PAST!
PRESENT:- enjoy it! (woooo hoooo, you made it to 2012, party ohhh-ver heeee-yaaa) your in it...
FUTURE:- look forward to it

If 2011 wasn't a great year for you, and you didn't do all that you wanted, or you set certain goals and never reached them, the beauty of life is, you can start afresh...and 2012 is your fresh start so make it happen!

never give up on your dreams!

wishing you all the best for 2012!
